Our swimming program has been developed to work along a child’s development. This class is essentially a Beginners class with parents assisting in their child in the pool.
The focus is on getting your child independently confident in the water. Content will include basic stroke technique, how to climb out of the pool, jumping into the water and a balance of fun, learning and discipline.
All beginners class swimmers will wear floatation belts and woggles as they learn to swim independently, keeping them safely above water while they work towards the “Duckling Awards” scheme.
At Higgins Aquatics the maximum number of children in a class is 6. Please find more info related to group swimming lessons here.
No, from complete beginners up to our improver classes a teacher will be in the water. We also have assistants for duckling and improver 1 classes. Once progressed onto swim skills level teaching will be done from the poolside.
Each of our classes are 30 minutes long, this includes lessons during our crash courses.
Payments are made at the start of each term for the whole term and can be made either by BACS transfer, Cheque made payable to Higgins Aquatics or Cash.

If children are in the process of being potty trained, you must dress them in a water nappy with swim nappy shorts over the top.
We request the children have goggles. These are available to buy at the pools to make it easy for you to get hold of them. A free silicon cap is provided for the little ones.
